Ms. Rhea and Ms. Weinstein provide mental health services, short-term counseling, community collaboration, Response to Intervention, Special Education Evaluations, Truancy Support and Interventions and general services to students at Montbello High School.  The goal is to increase the social, emotional, and academic functioning of Montbello High School students. With combined experience Ms. Rhea and Ms. Weinstein believe that without stable mental health, you will not have academic achievement. Both are instrumental in connecting students to community resources and other partnership relationships, to achieve a comprehensive mental health approach.  Ms. Rhea and Ms. Weinstein also assist students with individual, family, behavior, academic, clothing, personal needs, or teen parenting issues as needed. A variety of groups are also provided each semester to support the social and mental health needs of all Montbello High School students.  Some of the groups provided are:

Ms. Rhea

  • Liaison to Affective Needs, Multi-Intensive, and the Adaptive Functioning Classroom.
  • Young Woman’s Group.
  • Brother-To-Brother
  • West African Drumming And Dance Group.
  • Why Try? class.
  • Peace 4 Kids Curriculum taught.

Ms. Weinstein

  • Teen Parent Support Group
  • Parent of students with emotional disabilities support group

Other In-House Supportive Services

Ms. Rhea and Ms. Weinstein also provide referrals to the Mental Health Corporation of Denver for Counseling Services, and referrals to Anderson and Hagar Connections & Restore Health & Counseling, LLC for Drug Treatment Services as Needed. Both agencies provide services within Montbello High School on a limited basis.
