Expectations
All students are required to follow the Warrior Expectations listed in their planners. Violations result in disciplinary consequences.
Dress Code
All students are required to follow the dress code as outlined in the student handbook. Violations of dress code result in disciplinary consequences.
Attendance
All students are expected to get to class on time and attend classes. Attendance and tardiness are recorded. Unexcused absences and tardiness result in disciplinary consequences. A progressive set of discipline procedures will be followed starting with detention or community service, letters to parents, and ISIR. Attendance problems may result in the student being sent to truancy court, suspended, and/or being placed in an alternative school.
Discipline Ladder
All students are subject to progressive steps of discipline based upon the severity of the offense.
Discipline will match the violation. More serious situations such as fighting, using profanity, harassment, etc., will result in the student receiving ISIR, suspension, and/or possible expulsion hearing.
Less serious violations result in students being assigned lunch detention. Lunch detention is held during the first twenty minutes of lunch.
Violations slightly more serious in nature, or if the student does not do assigned lunch detention, result in either lunch or after school community service. This service involves assisting the custodial workers.
ISIR
In School Intervention. It is the intent of Montbello High School to provide intervention for students that will result in the least amount of interruption of education. In lieu of suspension, students may be assigned In School Intervention. This assignment is in a private room, and the student is provided with schoolwork for as many days as determined by the student advisor. Lunch is provided and eaten in the room, and the student is not allowed to leave.
Suspension
Suspension is a more serious consequence for inappropriate behavior that is determined to be of a severe nature. Suspensions from school can be as short as one day or as long as five days. Further, if the student’s record shows habitual violations, the student advisor can request an extension of days and an expulsion hearing to determine if the student should receive alternative placement. Homework is available for students while on suspension. Homework can be picked up in the attendance office after 2:00 p.m. following the day the student is sent home.
Other Resources Available To Assist Students

Arapahoe House
This program is a drug and alcohol abuse recovery program. This six week program includes meetings in which students discuss their problems with their peers and receive positive reinforcement to become drug-and/or alcohol-free.
