Montbello Black Pride Club

The Montbello Black Pride Club of Montbello High School has as its goals the following:

  • To promote and support the history of Montbello High School from the beginning of its inception to now
  • To uphold the principles of our earlier Montbello alumnus and ancestors, and to honor their commitment to the school, the students, and to the community
  • To promote equality on our campus, and to provide events and experiences that support and honor African and African American heritage
  • To connect African American students with alumnus who will provide rich career and academic experiences
  • To provide a forum for African American students to enjoy and celebrate their rich heritage and legacy

The mission of Montbello Black Pride (MBP), is to promote equality, history, experiences, issues, and perspectives that support Montbello High School's African American students academically, socially, emotionally, and historically. We strive to create an environment in which Black culture is visible, accessible, and valued. We desire to increase understanding, connection, and appreciation of the diversity of our school, and believe that it is imperative that we work on eliminating bias, fear, intolerance and stereotypes. In valuing African Americans and the history of Montbello High School, we do not devalue anyone, but enhance others through the enhancement of ourselves. We welcome anyone committed to or interested in our mission regardless of race, religion, sex, or nationality.
