Denver Educational Excellence Program (DEEP)

The Denver Educational Excellence Program (DEEP) is a 20 year old program of the Denver Public Schools, and Montbello High School. DEEP is designed to expose under-represented students of color to the field of science, math, health, technology, and engineering. The program has served over 1,000 students in its tenure, and has provided Montbello High School Students with fun and exciting opportunities to experience the world of engineering, science, math, health, and technology. Students involved in DEEP are mentored by the University of Colorado Multicultural Engineering Program, and former Montbello alumnus. DEEP students meet on a twice a month basis to plan excursions, participate in community events, and to plan for future careers. All activities are designed to promote interest in the student’s prospective field of interest, and to produce future students who excel in math, science, engineering and health. DEEP specifically focuses on 11th and 12th grade students; however, all students may participate.
