Speech Club

Also meets on Thursdays after school since we have some of the same members. Currently the speech club hosts the Spoken Word Café on Tuesday during lunch. This is an opportunity for those students who are serious about their writings and speaking to express themselves and receive audience response.

Once again, any one can join. Speech meets happen in general from November to April. The DPS invitational this year is at North High the second weekend of November. Speech meets lasts all day; so students must make serious commitments since it also costs a fee/person to enter the meet. The Governor Shafroth Speech meet will be in April at South H.S. We hosted it last year. We try to make one meet/month. We usually compete in drama interpretation and duo.
